CD Leganés defender, Kenneth Omeruo has expressed joy over Super Eagles victory against Central African Republic in Douala, Cameroon.

The Eagles bounced back from a defeat in Lagos on Thursday to secured a 2-0 win and maintain top of Group C in the 2022 FIFA World Cup Qualification.

Leon Balogun scores his first goal for the Eagles while Osimhen, who missed couple of chances doubled the tally at the stroke of half time to seal the win and 3 points for the Gernot Rohr side.

While expressing himself after the game, the 27-year-old defender noted that the Eagles had to win Central African Republic to show they ‘are better when it comes to playing in a very good pitch’.

“I feel good, I feel happy, we went into that game knowing fully well that we didn’t win the first one. We had to win the game to show that we are better than them when it comes to playing in a very good pitch and we also had to talk to ourselves, make everyone understand that the World Cup qualifiers is very important to us,” he said.

Omeruo, who ply his trade with the Segunda División side further stressed that the win is not enough until the Eagles grab the World Cup ticket.

“I think we played a very good game, we dominated the game and everyone gave their best out there out. Well, its not enough until we qualify but I think its a step, Omeruo said.
