Enyimba handed difficult CAFCC group

Nigerian champions Enyimba International have been handed a very difficult task in the Total CAF Confederation Cup, CAFCC, following the draws for the group stages.

The Elephants, who dropped from the CAF Champions League, defeated another Nigerian side, Rivers United 5-4 on penalties after the playoffs ended 1-1 on aggregate, to secure their place in the draws.

In the draws held in Cairo on Monday, the People’s Elephants were drawn in a very tough group A, alongside Orlando Pirates of South Africa, Algeria’s Es Setif, and Al Ahli Benghazi of Libya.

Enyimba will kickoff off their quest for continental glory on March 10 when they host their Libyan counterparts in Aba before flying out to South Africa for a date with Pirates.

A back to back encounter with Algeria’s Setif will be followed by another road trip, this time to Libya to face Ah Ahli before they return to Aba for their final group game against Orlando Pirates.

The TotalCAFCC group stage will commence between March 10 and April 28, while the final is slated for July 10.
