Kano Pillars have replaced Kwara United at the top of the NPFL table after game week 12, with Plateau United and Nasarawa United the biggest winners.
An impressive first half performance saw Plateau defeat Jigawa Golden Stars 3-0 thanks to a man of the match display from Ibrahim Mustaph who scored a brace.
Oche Ochowechi put the home side 1-0 up as early as the sixth minute before Mustaph doubled their advantage 15 minutes later.
The forward scored his second and Plateau’s third of the day when he made it 3-0 two minutes before the break. The second half produced no further goals as Plateau held on to the win to put an end to their three match losing streak.
In Latfia, it was another brace and man of performance from Adamu Hassan that helped Nasarawa United to a 3-0 win over FCIU and quick return to winning ways after their defeat the last time.
Offor Ikenna started the goal rush in the 10th minute, with Hassan adding two more goals in the second half to seal the win.
Meanwhile, in Kaduna, Pillars also made a quick return to winning ways following a hard-fought 1-0 victory over their visitors Sunshine Stars.
Bullish forward, Nyima Nwangwa netted the decisive goal in the first half after putting Sai Masu Gida 1-0 ahead eight minutes into the game.
They held on for the win which sees them move up to the top of the table on 23 points, one ahead of former leaders, Kwara United who dropped to second after the Harmony Boys were held to a 1-1 draw at home by 10-man Abia Warriors.
The top four is completed by 3rd placed Enyimba, who shared the spoils in Aba after a 1-1 draw with Akwa United, while Nasarawa United occupy fourth position.
At the other end of the table, Adamawa United remain rooted to the foot of the table, while Warri Wolves stay 19th despite a valuable win over Rivers United in Warri.
Ifeanyi Ubah, FCIU is 18th after their latest defeat, with Katsina United completing the bottom four.
