The game between Duisburg and Osnabruck in Germany’s third tier was called off after just over 30 minutes due to an apparent racist incident in the grandstand, according to match officials.

Because of the abuse, which is believed to be directed at Aaron Opoku, who is on loan at the club from Hamburg, the referee ordered players off the pitch, and he appeared obviously unhappy as he walked away.

Despite further conversations between both teams concerning the game’s resumption, news of the match’s cancellation came three-quarters of an hour after the event.

The offender has been discovered, according to the club.
