Super Eagles defender Tyronne Ebuehi, has officially signed a long-term contract with Empoli FC of Serie A in Italy from Portuguese club SL Benfica.
On Tuesday, Empoli delightfully announced the signing of the Super Eagles’ right back on their social media channels.
Tyronne Ebuehi signed a three-year deal with the Serie A outfit – Empoli after mutually terminating his contract with Portuguese club Benfica.
The contract will see the 26-year-old stay with the Italian side till 2025 as the Seria A new boys look set to improve on their 14th-place finish in 2021–2022 campaign.

The Netherland-born spent the 2021–2022 season on loan with Venezia FC but as a result of placing last in the league standings, Venezia FC was demoted.
He featured in 19 Serie A games with Venezia and one Copa Italia game and has also made 11 appearances for the Nigerian Super Eagles, including one at the Russia 2018 FIFA World Cup.
Ebuehi struggled with injuries throughout his professional career, though Benfica B thought the Nigerian would be a rising star right away.
He has also been on loan to FC Twente for a while before his transfer to Empoli for almost €2 million.
