Salah, Mane net brace as Liverpool thrash Leeds United

Liverpool thrashed Leeds United 6-0 at Anfield to close reduce the point gap of Manchester City over them to just three points at the top of the Premier League table.

Mohamed Salah netted two penalties in the first half to put Liverpool up three goals, raising his Premier League tally to 19 goals this season. He also played a role in Joel Matip’s goal.

Sadio Mane scored a late double from close range, and Virgil van Dijk completed the slaughter with a superb header in stoppage time.

Liverpool had a perfect opportunity to close the gap on Manchester City at the top of the Premier League to just three points, and Jurgen Klopp’s team delivered.

The Reds will look to keep their momentum going when they meet Chelsea in the EFL Cup final on Sunday at Wembley Stadium.

Leeds, on the other hand, will be looking to bounce back from their huge setback when they host Tottenham Hotspur at Elland Road on Saturday.
