Ishaq Kayode Rafiu of Rivers United has been named the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) Player of the Month for February by the League Bloggers Association (LBA).
Ishaq Kayode had a wonderful month for Rivers United, notching three goals in six NPFL outings, which included a brace against Dakkada FC in their 2-1 victory.
The current league leading goalscorer defeated Abdulaeez Yufus, Valentine Odoh, and Ibrahim Yahaya to win the title with 11 goals.
The 21-year-old also netted the game’s first goal to assist Stanley Eguma beat Akwa United 4-1 at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium on Sunday last week.
In their NPFL match, his goal gave Rivers United the upper hand over their visitors, ensuring a comfortable victory going into the half-way point of the 2021/2022 season.
With Rivers United leading the NPFL table, the attacker will be looking to maintain his excellent form and help the Port Harcourt club win the league crown at the end of the season.
