French striker Olivier Giroud has ended his beautiful and successful romance with the city London after his move to the Italian Serie A giants AC Milan.
Chelsea and Milan confirmed the deal for the talented veteran who has joined the Rossoneri on a permanent move from Stamford Bridge on Saturday.
AC Milan is delighted to announce the signing of Olivier Jonathan Giroud on a permanent transfer from Chelsea FC.
Milan said in a statement on their website.
Giroud has since put pen to paper on a two-year deal with the option of a further year at Milan, bringing an end to his ten-year stay in London where he played for two city rivals, Arsenal and Chelsea.
The 34-year-old joined the Gunners in the summer of 2012 from Ligue 1 side Montpellier, winning three FA Cup titles, and community shields before swapping the Emirates Stadium for Stanford Bridge six years later.
He lifted the FA Cup, Europa League and UEFA Champions League titles with the Blues during his three-year stay ad the club, scoring 39 goals in 119 appearances.
Giroud, who will wear the number 9 shirt at his new club, leave London as the 11th most used substitute in Chelsea’s history.
