September belonged to Okoronkwo. The Nigerian striker was involved in every key moment of AFC Toronto’s dominant run, finding ways to influence games with her trademark sharpness and composure.

She kicked off the month with the decisive 37th-minute winner in a tight 1–0 victory over Halifax before delivering a masterclass against Vancouver — striking twice in the 6th and 65th minutes and setting up another just before half-time in a commanding 7–0 win.

Okoronkwo stayed consistent in the reverse fixture against Halifax, confidently slotting home a 39th-minute penalty to secure a 1–1 draw.

She then ended September by providing the assist for the lone goal in a hard-fought 1–0 triumph over Ottawa.

Her direct involvement in every September fixture — a goal or assist in each of the four — stretched Toronto’s unbeaten run to five games and opened an eight-point lead at the top of the standings.

A breakout year for the Nigerian star

Okoronkwo’s award marks another chapter in a standout 2025 campaign. Her latest run of form brings her season total to 14 goal involvements — eight goals and six assists — since joining AFC Toronto in February.

This is also her second major milestone of the year, having made history as the league’s first-ever Player of the Month winner back in June.

With her consistency and sharp finishing, the Nigerian international continues to stand out as one of Africa’s most dynamic and reliable forwards—a player whose form could define AFC Toronto’s playoff push.
