Former Super Eagles defender Ifeanyi Udeze has praised Victor Osimhen after the Galatasaray striker’s stunning hat-trick against Benin Republic in Nigeria’s 4–0 World Cup qualifying triumph on Tuesday.
Speaking on Sporty TV, Udeze expressed deep admiration for Osimhen’s explosive movement and finishing instinct, admitting he wishes they had played together during his career.

Reflecting on Osimhen’s display, Udeze said,
“You see Victor Osimhen? I wish I played with him. Seriously. Because I know how to feed strikers like this. He will give me bonus every week.”
Udeze, who represented Nigeria at the 2002 World Cup and African Cup of Nations tournaments, described Osimhen as a striker built for every era — strong, relentless, and always hungry for goals.

“You must understand players like this, how they move. You know, they move like a bull. Just put the ball in the front, and the rest will be history,” he added.
Osimhen’s hat-trick — coming in the 3rd, 37th, and 51st minutes — proved exactly what Udeze meant.
Osimhen’s brilliance lifts Nigeria when it mattered most
The forward’s mix of strength, movement, and composure tore through the Benin defence, propelling Nigeria into the CAF play-offs after a high-pressure qualifying campaign.
For Udeze, Osimhen represents the kind of forward every creative player dreams of — tireless in his runs, fearless in duels, and lethal in the box.

“When I put the ball one on one, I’ll just be where I am and be shouting ‘goal,” he said. “Because I know he’s going to score. I love it. He’s a great striker. Wonderful striker.”
Osimhen’s recent form has not only revived Nigeria’s World Cup hopes but also backed Eric Chelle’s claim that he’s the best striker in the world.
