Diogo Jota net brace as Liverpool thrash Arsenal, land in EFL Cup final

153

Liverpool advanced to the EFL Cup final after defeating Arsenal 2-0 in the second leg of their semi-final tie.

Diogo Jota’s two clinical finishes were the difference between the two teams, ensuring the Reds to reach the final for the first time since 2016 and for the record 13th time overall.

Apart from one effort from Alexandre Lacazette that went over the bar, the Gunners underperformed through out the game, and their night finished on a sad note when Thomas Partey was sent off for two bookable offences.

On Sunday, both teams are back in Premier League play. At the Emirates Stadium, Arsenal will host Burnley, while Liverpool will go to Crystal Palace.
