Chelsea is apparently interested in signing Marc Cucurella from Brighton this summer, as the Blues are looking set to hijack the defender from Pep Guardiola.
Now that it appears that talks for a transfer to Manchester City have stalled over a demand for a £50 million price, the Blues are considering taking action.
This summer, there were whispers that the Premier League Champions were eager to capture the 26-year-old after he purportedly lodged a transfer request.
Marc Cucurella, who is worth £50 million, might be traded for Levi Colwill, according to Fabrizio Romano.
In order to strengthen their back four in the wake of the exits of players like Rudiger, Christiansen, and Azpilicueta, who is also rumored to be leaving the West London side, the Blues have made defenders a key priority this transfer window.
Fabrizio has however stated that Chelsea is aggressively seeking to sign the Spaniard, even though doing so may require them to let one of their most potential stars leave.
Fabrizio Romano wrote on his twitter page saying;
“Chelsea are pushing to hijack Marc Cucurella deal! Direct talk today with Brighton – Levi Colwill could be part of the negotiation. Personal terms negotiation, in the next hours. Man City will not improve last bid: £40m, rejected by Brighton.”
