Chelsea’s Mason Mount has revealed that he felt good playing under Graham Potter’s new formation during their Champions League game against Dinamo Zagreb on Wednesday night.

The England youngster acknowledged that the new formation gave him enough room to drift, connect with the midfield and also get forward as well.

Mason Mount, who admitted after the game that it was a nice position for him also criticised his own game by admitting that his passing ability was off during yesterday’s game in the Champions League.

We changed the formation a little bit. It allowed me to drift and connect the midfield, and get forward as well. I felt good. It was a nice position for me.” – he said.

The Chelsea midfielder added that;

When I look at a game the negatives stick out in my head, and I gave the ball away too much. That’s how I am, that’s what I think about after the game, but I did some good bits as well, so I’ll take it.” – Mount said.

Even though Mount occasionally went overboard in possession, he still presented a strong threat with several deft passes from the midfield to the top of the field.

Dinamo goalie deflected an effort that was destined for the top corner, depriving the England international of another opportunity to strike a free kick this season.

He also roused the home crowd from their seats with an enthralling Cruyff turn in the middle of the field.

A good message to the playmaker should be to maintain playing confidently and imaginatively because he will occasionally lose possession.
