The African Football Confederation (CAF), have decided that VAR would be used in the qualifying round of the World Cup in Qatar.
CAF on Friday conducted an Extraordinary General Assembly to discuss important concerns in African football.
In response to SAFA and Bafana Bafana’s complaints about poor officiating and possible match manipulation, FIFA head Gianni Infantino and CAF president Patrice Motsepe have agreed to employ VAR for the 2022 African World Cup playoffs.
This follows a big appeal by SAFA against referee Maguette Ndiaye and a recent protest by Benin against Gabon’s Eric Otogo-Castane.
