Atletico Madrid advanced to the next round of the Champions League after a 1-0 victory over Manchester United at Old Trafford on Tuesday night, securing a 2-1 aggregate win in the round-of-16 tie.
Renan Lodi scored four minutes before the end of the first half to put Atletico Madrid in up.
Lodi, who was at the right spot at the right time, directed Antoine Griezmann’s cross beyond David de Gea. He gave the Spanish team the lead with a header into the back of the net.
Felix made a powerful run into the area before delivering to Griezmann, who then located Lodi with a beautiful cross to score.
De Gea had previously in the game saved a spectacular Rodrigo De Paul attempt.
Up until the goal, United had been the better team, but they were caught on the counter. The home team was cautioned when Joao Felix’s goal was disallowed, but they were also punished after Lodi scored.
At the opposite end, Jan Oblak was forced to deny Anthony Elanga and Bruno Fernandes goal opportunities to score.

Los Rojiblancos and goalkeeper Jan Oblak put up a solid defensive showing, preventing United from breaking through.
United’s European quest is over, but Diego Simeone’s side will keep fighting for a place in the last eight.
Manchester United will have opportunity to ponder on their defeat because they do not play again in the Premier League until April 2 at Old Trafford against Leicester City.
On Saturday, Atletico Madrid will travel to Rayo Vallecano in LaLiga.
