Victor Boniface showcased his scoring prowess once again, securing his fourth Europa League goal for Bayer Leverkusen in a dominant match against Hacken on Thursday night.
The talented Super Eagles player, Boniface, quickly fired his team ahead early on, demonstrating exceptional skills in this elite European competition.
His Super Eagles teammates, Nathan Tella, also contributed significantly for 64 minutes as Leverkusen clinched a convincing 2-0 away victory.
Despite only featuring for 46 minutes, the Nigerian international made a lasting impact as Leverkusen extended their flawless run to five wins in the UEFA Europa League group stage matches.
In his fourth Europa League appearance this season, the 22-year-old wasted no time, seizing the opportunity at the Nya Ullevi Stadium.
Boniface capitalized on a Josip Stansic delivery, expertly heading home to give Bayer the lead.
This marked his fourth goal in the Europa League and notably ended his five-game goalless streak for both club and country. Patrik Schick sealed the win with a late strike following Boniface’s early impact.
However, an ill-timed yellow card led to Boniface’s substitution just before the second half, altering the course of his impactful performance.
Yet, Boniface’s goal proved decisive once again for the Xabi Alonso-led squad, confirming his pivotal role in steering Leverkusen toward victory.
This goal marks the rising star’s 12th of the season, highlighting his remarkable form ahead of the Bundesliga clash against Dortmund this Sunday.
