The dream has always been clear for Nigerian international Tolu Arokodare — it’s either the Premier League or nothing.
The 24-year-old forward, who grew up supporting Manchester United, finally saw that ambition turn into reality with his Wolves move.
Speaking after his debut at St James’ Park, the 24-year-old revealed why playing in England was never in doubt for him.
Premier League dream defines Wolves move
“When Wolverhampton became concrete, I didn’t hesitate for a second. No one had to convince me. Everyone also knew I absolutely wanted to go to the Premier League.”
Those were the words of Arokodare, whose determination left little room for alternatives despite rumours linking him with AC Milan and Napoli.
“There might have been other rumours [AC Milan and Napoli], but in my head, I only wanted one thing.”
The Nigerian forward sealed a four-year deal with Wolves after impressing last season at Belgian side Genk, where his physicality and goalscoring ability attracted attention across Europe.
Arokodare ready to make Wolves shirt his own
For the Super Eagles striker, joining Wolves was more than just a career move — it was a natural fit.
“The Wolverhampton shirt already fits me like a glove. [Wolves are known for] using their strikers well. I’ll benefit from that.”
Arokodare made his Premier League debut on Saturday in a 1-0 defeat to Newcastle United.
Though his first outing was quiet, ending after 66 minutes, he remains eager to prove himself under Vítor Pereira.
His ability to adapt quickly could be vital as Wolves aim to climb off the bottom of the table after four defeats in four games so far.
