Romelu Lukaku, the Chelsea forward has expressed his excitement at making a comeback to Inter after completing a season-long loan there.
Lukaku merely left Nerazzurri to join the Blues in a high-profile transaction for close to £100 million last summer, and while there, he struggled during their 2021/22 season.
The 30-year-old forward admits that coming back to the Serie A outfit is like coming home, adding that even though he transferred to the Premier League, he kept his home at Inter.
Despite leading Chelsea in scoring with 15 goals overall, he infuriated the fan base in a heated interview by expressing his love for Inter.
Lukaku has finally gotten his wish and returned to San Siro after the two teams confirmed a deal on Wednesday.

“It’s an amazing feeling. What we achieved here a year ago was fantastic. That goes for the team, the fans and also me personally. Inter has given me so much and I hope to do even better this time. It’s now time to work hard as a squad and hopefully even better than before.” – Lukaku said in an interview posted on Inter’s YouTube channel.
In the interview, Lukaku expressed his gratitude to Inter president Steven Zhang for helping to secure his loan return to the team.
“We spoke about so many things and how it seemed impossible for me to come back here, but we managed it and I’m grateful for the way he kept pushing and believing it was possible,” he said.
Adding that;
“We managed to do it in the end and I’m delighted to be back. It’s like coming home. My family and I were so happy here thanks to the people, the fans and my team-mates. From the first day I arrived here, everyone helped me settle in. I kept my home here when I went to England so that means something.”
