Rivers United, the former Nigeria Premier League Champions, are gearing up for the thrilling 2023/24 season with a revamped squad.
In a strategic move, the Port Harcourt-based club bid farewell to over 10 players, opening the doors for fresh talent to invigorate their ranks.
Among the departing players are notable names such as Bolaji Sakin, a dynamic forward, and Darlinton Ovunda, an agile goalkeeper and Madu Chiamaka.
The team also bid farewell to experienced players like Kenechukwu Agu, a skillful attacking midfielder, and Chukwudi Lawrence, a talented right winger.
These departures come in the wake of the expiration of contracts for two senior players, Ndasi Denis and Morice Chukwu.
With a new chapter on the horizon, Rivers United embarked on their campaign in the highly anticipated Naija Super 8 clash.
In their first encounter, they faced a fierce battle against Lobi Stars, narrowly succumbing to defeat.
However, this setback only fuels their determination to conquer challenges and reclaim their glory.
