South Africa women’s team goalkeeper Kaylin Swart is confident the Banyana Banyana will eliminate the Super Falcons of Nigeria in the final round of the Paris 2024 Olympics Qualifier.
South Africa will be up against Nigeria for the first leg of the qualifier at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium in Abuja on Friday, April 5, before hosting the eleven-time African champions at the Loftus Versfeld arena in Pretoria five days later.
The eventual winner of the two-legged fixture will join Spain, Brazil and Japan in Group C of the Paris 2024 Olympics scheduled to take place in France from July 26 to August 11.
In light of this, Swart believes the long-standing rivalry between both nations will culminate in a great bragging decider where the tactical ingenuity of her manager Desiree Ellis and Falcons’ Randy Waldrum will take centre stage.
“Playing against Nigeria is always a great battle,” the 29-year-old told CAFonline.
“We are familiar with each other only because we have had battles for many years up until now and this one is no different.
“I have full confidence in my teammates, and I think if we just stick to our strengths as a team and play for each other, we will get the results we need,” she concluded.
