Osho Fatai has shocked everyone by announcing his resignation as the Chief Coach of Rivers United FC, which has left fans and NPFL community wondering why.

Fatai expressed his appreciation to Rivers United FC, expressing gratitude to the management, staff, and coaching crew for the incredible experience he had during his time there.

When Fatai was appointed as the new chief coach of Rivers United FC in October 2021, it brought hope and excitement to the club’s supporters.

He took over the position from Ndubisi Nduka, who was promoted to the role of technical director at the club.

The decision to bring Fatai on board was met with enthusiasm, as he had already established a reputation for himself in Nigerian football.

Before joining Rivers United, Fatai made headlines when he resigned as the head coach of Enyimba in August.

The move was a strategic partnership with Stanley Eguma, the technical adviser of Rivers United. Together, they aimed to utilize their expertise and lead the club to success, with the goal of winning the NPFL title in the 2021/22 campaign.

Fatai’s journey in the football world gained attention in 2018 when he guided Remo Stars to their first-ever appearance in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL).

Despite the team’s subsequent relegation, Fatai’s impact was undeniable. He quickly brought them back into the league the following season but resigned soon after.

The unexpected decision of Fatai’s resignation as the Chief Coach of Rivers United FC has left many wondering about the reasons behind it.

As fans and players struggle to come to terms with the departure of the talented coach, the club now faces the daunting task of finding a suitable replacement who can fill Fatai’s shoes and continue the journey towards success.
