Naija born playmaker Michael Olise joins Eagles

Premier League side Crystal Palace have confirmed the signing of Nigerian born playmaker Michael Olise, Football411 can report. 

Olise joined from Championship outfit Reading and has put pen to paper on a five-year contract that runs till the summer of 2026 at Selhurst Park.

Speaking on his big move, the talented youngster and Super Eagles target said; 

It’s a big moment. It’s a great club and I’m very excited to be here. Good players, a good manager, so I’m ready to start.”

Olise told the club.

The 19-year-old, who started his career at Champions League winners Chelsea, becomes the first signing of the new era under PL legend, Patrick Vieira, who termed his first signing a ‘good player’

We’ve known him quite well because he’s a player the football club have been following for a long time. I think it is important to refresh the squad, to bring some new faces, to bring young talent here, and this is a really good signing for us.”

Vieira said.

Olise has come a long way from the boy who worked his from the Reading youth system before making his debut two years ago as a 17-year-old.

He went on to enjoy some game time in the following seasons before establishing himself as a key member of the Royals last season, when he scored 7 goals and assisted a further 12 in 46 appearances.

Olise wrapped up an impressive campaign by taking home three awards, the EFL Young Player of the Season, and inclusion in the Championship Team of the Season as well as the PFA’s Championship Team of the Year.

Now, i except a real battle for Olise’s international career between Nigeria, England and Algeria with the youngster eligible to play for all three.

He joins another Super Eagles target, Ebere Eze as the Nigerians at the club.
