Manchester City slip to shocking defeat against RB Leipzig in Champions League with Kyle Walker sent off.RB Leipzig

After defeating 10-man City 2-1, RB Leipzig has qualified for the Europa League. The hosts enjoyed a fantastic first half, with Szoboszlai breaking the stalemate after rounded Steffen with a neat finish into an empty net.

City pushed after the interval, but fell behind 2-0 as a swift break saw Silva pick out the bottom corner.

Walker was sent off late on after kicking out at the back of Silva. Mahrez did pull one back with a stooping header from a tight angle.

Leipzig earned the win they needed to finish third in the group, while any result would have sufficed given Brugge’s loss to PSG in the other match.

On Monday, they’ll be drawn for the Europa League last 32.

City had already qualified as group champions and would learn their opponents for the last 16 on Monday.

We wanted to have fun in our football again. We did that well over the 90 minutes today and deservedly got the three points. We wanted to find more solutions when in possession and could have even scored one or two more,” Konni Laimer said.
