Fulham have officially announced the signing of former Chelsea player – Willian, who made his return back to the Premier League on a free transfer.
Before Fulham made the announcement that they had signed him on Thursday, the former Arsenal and Brazil midfielder had been playing for Corinthians.
After posting on social media to admit that he and his family had received numerous death threats, the 34-year-old terminated his contract with the Brazilian team.
His contract with the Arsenal was also terminated since he failed to make an impact in the Premier League side, before he returned to his first club, Corinthians, in his own country
The former Brazil international has been itching to get back to the Premier League since he left the Gunners and joined Corinthians in his home nation last year.
Tuesday morning in London, William underwent a series of medical examinations. He then immediately signed a one-year contract to become a new Fulham player.
Willian won five medals during his seven years at Chelsea, two of which were Premier League titles. In 2020, he signed a three-year contract to join Arsenal.
Willian made his international debut for Brazil in 2011, went on to become a regular, and later stopped featuring for the team in 2019. He is now Fulham’s seventh signing since their return to the English Premier League.
