Frank Lampard speaks on Anthony Gordon move to Chelsea

After a busy period in the transfer window, Chelsea is literally trying and anticipating finalizing the transfer of Anthony Gordon from Everton.

A lot of Chelsea fans are still unclear of how he would benefit the team and how he will improve Thomas Tuchel’s squad once he finally moves to Stamford Bridge.

When Everton rejected a second £45 million offer for the England under-21 international, many Chelsea supporters were delighted.

However, Anthony Gordon will probably move to Chelsea this summer, and the Blues plan to make another bid for him. But it’s debatable whether Gordon is really Tuchel’s best choice right now.

In addition to Aubameyang, Gordon seems to be the next player the Blues are interested in, since they are in dire need of a forward before the transfer window closes.

Frank Lampard asserts that Anthony Gordon is an essential member of the Everton squad amid interest from other teams, and he also says that they are considering offers for Dele Alli.

Even if Chelsea is interested in Anthony Gordon, the Everton manager said he cannot guarantee that Gordon would stay at Everton but still sees Gordon as a vital part of his side.

This is what Everton manager Frank Lampard had to say regarding Anthony Gordon’s predicament at Everton during his press conference.

He’s in the squad for tomorrow. He’s our player, we need him here. Anthony has a huge value to team – he’s key player for me. I consider him a massive player. 100% staying here? I can’t assure anybody, that’s naive.”

Chelsea has recently found it difficult to sign a top finishers, so even if Gordon’s acquisition doesn’t immediately benefit them, it might end up hurting them in the long run.
