The victory helped Nigeria bounce back from their opening-day defeat to Norway and set up a decisive final group-stage clash against Colombia.

Nigeria started brightly, taking the lead in the 10th minute through Salihu Nasiru, who slotted home after a clever attacking move.
Saudi Arabia hit back in the 21st minute as Amar Bin Al Yuhaybi equalised with a sharp finish, silencing the Nigerian fans.
The Flying Eagles restored their lead in the 38th minute when Amos Ochoche pounced on a loose ball inside the box.
But the drama didn’t end there—Saudi forward Talal Haji struck in the second half to make it 2-2, leaving the game hanging in the balance.
With just seconds remaining, Nigeria was awarded a penalty after sustained pressure. Captain of the side Daniel Bameyi stepped up in the 94th minute and converted calmly, sparking wild celebrations as the Flying Eagles sealed a much-needed three points.

Zubair hails team’s determination, sets sights on Colombia
Speaking after the win, Coach Aliyu Zubair praised the squad’s determination and ability to respond under pressure.
“The players made up their minds that they had to go all out for the three points here, and that is what motivated them,” Zubair told FIFA.com.
“Now it’s simple — we have to go all out for the three points against Colombia.”
The victory not only eliminated Saudi Arabia from the competition but also boosted Nigeria’s confidence ahead of their crucial final group match against Colombia on Monday.
