The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has instructed its legal and technical departments to promptly create guidelines for establishing football academies in Nigeria.
These guidelines aim to eliminate the presence of poorly equipped and low-quality football academies in the country.
The NFF board praised the federation and the Interim Management Committee (IMC) of the NPL, led by Honourable Gbenga Elegbeleye, for their efforts in the current football season, particularly in organizing the NPFL playoff.
The board expressed gratitude to the IMC for successfully fulfilling its responsibilities.
During the meeting, the Executive Committee discussed several important matters and reached the following decisions, which were documented in a statement accessible to the media:
– The board congratulated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima on their new positions, expressing confidence in their dedication to empowering youth and enhancing the international image of Nigeria through football.
– The Super Eagles were acknowledged for qualifying for the Africa Cup of Nations, but were encouraged to display more commitment to ensure a successful tournament.
– The Super Falcons were urged to perform exceptionally well in the FIFA Women’s World Cup, and the Nigeria Premier Football League season was praised.
– The State Elections Monitoring Team and the Normalization Committees were acknowledged for their work, and the board committed to establishing Governing Boards for various leagues.
– The number of members in each standing committee was increased, and the NFF Secretariat was commended for its performance and encouraged to continue making progress.
