Super Falcons icons Asisat Oshoala and Rasheedat Ajibade delivered standout performances over the weekend, inspiring victories for Al-Hilal and Paris Saint-Germain in Saudi Arabia and France.

Super Falcons stars Asisat Oshoala and Rasheedat Ajibade shine in Europe and Saudi Arabia

Their performances showed individual brilliance, as both players proved their worth by guiding their teams to impressive victories in Europe and the Middle East.

Asisat Oshoala shines in Saudi Women’s Premier League thriller

In Saudi Arabia, Oshoala once again proved decisive for Al-Hilal, scoring her second goal in as many games and providing an assist in a dramatic 3-2 win over Al-Ahli.

The 30-year-old striker set up Jessica Silva to drag Al-Hilal back on level terms after going behind early in the game.

Moments later, Oshoala produced a moment of brilliance to put her team ahead, bringing joy to the travelling supporters at the Prince Sultan Bin Fahd Stadium.

Manar Al Enezi’s late strike sealed the victory, keeping Al-Hilal third in the Saudi Women’s Premier League table with six points from two matches.

With two goals and one assist already, Oshoala’s impact has been immediate; no doubt she’s Africa’s most reliable forward.

Rasheedat Ajibade sparks PSG’s first win of the season

Meanwhile in France, Rasheedat Ajibade marked her first Paris Saint-Germain start with an impressive display as PSG cruised to a 5-2 victory over Nantes in the French Première Ligue Women.

The 25-year-old forward, a summer arrival from Atlético Madrid, combined brilliantly with Merveille Kanjinga to deliver PSG’s third goal, showing the sharp link-up play that convinced the club to bring her in.

Ajibade played 64 lively minutes before being substituted, earning praise for her energy and creativity from the flanks.

Fellow Super Falcons teammate Jennifer Echegini also featured for the full 90 minutes, helping PSG control a match packed with attacking flair.

The win handed PSG their first three points of the season after a frustrating draw with Lens in the opener, leaving them just two points behind league leaders and fierce rivals Olympique Lyonnais, who they face next in a crucial clash.

With both Oshoala and Ajibade hitting form early for their various clubs, we are beginning to see the sort of performance we saw when they led the Super Falcons to glory at the 2024 WAFCON.
