The Communication department of the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, has come under heavy criticism from the Football411 Podcast following comments made after Super Falcons defeat in the ABC final.

The Falcons were humbled in front of their home fans by fierce rivals South Africa’s Banyana Banyana, who ran away with a 2-4 victory to lift the maiden edition of the Aisha Buhari Cup, ABC.

Following that defeat, a report from the NFF communication department appeared to have singled out former skipper of the team Desire Oparanozie as the scapegoat.

“France-based forward, Desire (Oparanozie) was the most awful on the evening, squandering a half-dozen opportunities, easily conceding possession and literally playing against her own team,” the report stated.

Reacting to that quote, our visibly disappointed and unhappy Football411 Podcast crew has called for the immediate sack of all involved in putting out what it described as “ridiculous”.

“After the loss, imagine having to scapegoat your players, the communication department and everyone involved should be fired,” – Football411 Podcast.

Listen to the crew discuss more on this issue, in what appears a clear witch-hunt of the former Falcons captain for daring to stand up for what she believed in in the past.
