In Napoli’s heartbreaking home defeat to Fiorentina, Super Eagles forward Victor Osimhen scored his 12th Serie A goal of the season.
Luciano Spalletti’s side missed a golden opportunity to go top of Serie A thanks to goals from Nicolas Gonzalez, Jonathan Ikone, and Arthur Cabral.
Napoli’s hopes of winning Serie A was weakened after a 3-2 loss to Fiorentina at home.
The hosts got off to a fantastic start, dominating possession to score early on. Fiorentina, on the other hand, took the lead in the 29th minute thanks to a thunderous volley from Nicolas Gonzalez.
After 58 minutes, Napoli took the steps in the second half and equalized through Dries Mertens’ low drive.
Victor Osimhen provides the assist, enabling the hosts get bounce back into the game.
Eight minutes later, Jonathan Ikone gave Fiorentina the lead again, and Arthur Cabral added a third with a spectacular solo effort.
Osimhen pulled one back for Napoli, but it was only a consolation goal.
