Turkish Super Lig champions Galatasaray have received a major boost ahead of their clash with Alanyaspor, as Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen has been included in their travelling squad.
The 26-year-old forward has been sidelined since picking up an ankle injury during Nigeria’s 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifier against Rwanda.
Victor Osimhen back in action for Galatasaray
His absence forced him to miss Galatasaray’s last three matches, including key fixtures against Eyupsor, Eintracht Frankfurt, and Konyaspor.
Osimhen, known for his pace and lethal finishing, has been steadily recovering and training with the team over the past week.
Club updates showed the Nigerian star actively participating in drills, signalling he is ready to make his return, though he is expected to start from the bench against Alanyaspor.
Galatasaray look to bounce back with Osimhen leading the charge
Osimhen’s return could not have come at a more crucial time. Galatasaray have endured a tough start in the UEFA Champions League, including a 5-1 defeat to Eintracht Frankfurt, and the team will rely on their talismanic striker to spearhead their attack against Liverpool at Rams Park next.
Coach Orkan Buruk is likely to use Osimhen strategically in the Süper Lig fixture, giving him minutes from the bench to regain full match fitness while keeping him fresh for the Champions League clash.
His presence alone boosts Galatasaray’s attacking threat, providing options in the final third that opponents will have to respect.
With Osimhen back in form, both Galatasaray and the Super Eagles of Nigeria stand to benefit.
His fitness will be closely monitored ahead of Nigeria’s upcoming qualifiers against Benin Republic and Lesotho, where his goal-scoring ability will be crucial.
