It was a sweet bitter night for Nigeria players in the second tier of European club football competition tagged ‘Uefa Europa League’.
Match-day 1 of the Europa league kicked off with exciting fixtures all around Europe and we kick off with arguably the biggest fixture of the night, Leicester City vs Napoli.
Leicester City 2 : 2 Napoli
Three (3) super eagles player namely, Victor Osimhen, Wilfred Ndidi and Kelechi Iheanacho went head to head at the Kings power stadium.

Kelechi Iheanacho made an inch perfect assist for a top quality finish from Barnes to score Leicester City second goal.
In the same game, Victor Osimhen pulled one back for Napoli in the 69th minute against the run of play by muscling his way over Vestergaard and looping his shot over Leicester’s keeper Schmeichel.
Osimhen drew Napoli level with a sumptuous header, rising high above his marker to end the game. He could have gotten a brace of assists but poor finishes from Zienliski and Politano stopped his shine.
Ademola Lookman also came on as a sub for Leicester in the 71st minute.

Wilfred Ndidi received his matching orders after a second yellow card for a foul on a Napoli player in the 92nd minute. He will miss the next two UEL games for Leicester.
Rapid Wien 0 : 1 Genk
The Legend of Paul Ebere Onuachu continued last night as he scored on the 90 minute for Genk to claim an important away victory. That goal took his tally to 50 for the Belgian side.

Olympiakos 2 : 1 Antwerp
24 year old Henry Onyekuru, was in action for 81 minutes in his first European debut for new club Olympiakos. The fast and skillful winger helped his side to a 2 – 1 win over Antwerp which takes them to the top of their group

Rangers 0 : 2 Lyon
It wasn’t a good night for the duo of Leon Balogun and Joe Aribo, as their team Rangers fell short to an own goal and strike from Karl Ekambi of Lyon.
The Scottish champions for the most time played second fiddle all through the game against Lyon. Joe Aribo who was on the field for 76 minutes got yellow carded two minutes before being subbed off.
