It was another action-packed weekend for Super Eagles and Super Falcons players across Europe and beyond, with several Nigerian stars making headlines for their clubs.
From Victor Boniface’s creative spark in Germany to Joy Omewa’s incredible scoring streak in Denmark, Nigerian footballers once again showed their quality and consistency for their various clubs.
Super Eagles players make their mark across Europe
Paul Onuachu continued his strong form in Turkey, scoring for Trabzonspor in a 1–1 draw against Alanyaspor.
The towering forward struck in the 15th minute, taking his tally to eight goals and one assist in 11 appearances.
Though Trabzonspor missed a chance to close the gap on leaders Galatasaray, Onuachu’s sharp finishing remains a highlight of their campaign.

In Germany, Victor Boniface came off the bench to spark Werder Bremen’s 2–1 comeback win over VfL Wolfsburg.
The Nigerian striker created Samuel Mbangula’s stoppage-time winner — his first assist since September — showing his flair, energy, and link-up play in a vibrant 25-minute cameo.
The victory marked Bremen’s third straight home win, their best run since 2019.
Chidozie Awaziem played the full 90 minutes as Nantes were held 1–1 by Le Havre in Ligue 1.
Despite an early goal from Matthis Abline, Nantes conceded late, with Awaziem solid in defence but unable to prevent the stoppage-time equaliser.
Tolu Arokodare was an unused substitute in Wolves’ 3–0 defeat to Chelsea—a result that deepened the club’s early-season woes, leaving them bottom with two points.
Meanwhile, Gift Orban delivered an industrious display for Hellas Verona in a goalless draw against Lecce.
The 21-year-old forward, who has two goals and one assist this season, was subbed off late after a tireless shift up front.
Calvin Bassey, Alex Iwobi, and Samuel Chukwueze all featured in Fulham’s 2–0 loss to Everton.
The Super Eagles trio struggled to impose themselves against a disciplined Toffees side.
Iwobi has now registered one goal and two assists in 10 league games, while Bassey and Chukwueze continue to search for rhythm and consistency.
Victor Osimhen, leading Galatasaray’s line, saw a potential equaliser ruled out in their 1–0 loss to Kocaelispor.

The striker was fouled three times and had just 25 touches — the fewest among all outfield players — but still looked dangerous whenever involved.
Fred Onyedinma was the star man in England’s League One, scoring twice as Wycombe Wanderers cruised past Leyton Orient.

Jordan Torunarigha was equally impressive in Germany, helping Hamburger hold Borussia Dortmund to a home draw, while Akor Adams and Chidera Ejuke contributed to Sevilla’s 2–0 win over Osasuna.
After a weekend of intense club action, these Super Eagles stars will now regroup for their World Cup playoff against Gabon — a must-win tie that could set up a clash with Cameroon or DR Congo.
Super Falcons continue to shine in club football
Asisat Oshoala’s incredible scoring run continued, even as Al Hilal fell 3–1 to Al Nassr in the Saudi Women’s Premier League.

The Super Falcons captain opened the scoring in the ninth minute, linking up brilliantly with Jessica Silva, before Ruth Kipoyi and Clara Luvanga turned the game around for the hosts.
Oshoala has now scored in every league match this season — five goals and two assists in five appearances — keeping Al Hilal in second place.
Gift Monday delivered another clutch moment for Washington Spirit in the NWSL, scoring a towering header to put her team ahead in a tense playoff clash against Racing Louisville.

Though Louisville equalised late, the Spirit triumphed 3–1 in a penalty shootout to book a semifinal spot, thanks to Monday’s breakthrough and Kingsbury’s heroics in goal.
Joy Omewa extended her extraordinary scoring streak to ten consecutive matches in Fortuna Hjørring’s narrow 2–1 loss to AGF in Denmark.

The 22-year-old Super Falcons striker has now netted 17 goals in 18 games this season, including 11 in the league, confirming her as one of Europe’s hottest forwards.
Despite Fortuna’s first defeat of the campaign, Omewa’s form continues to light up Danish football.
Anam Imo was the hero for FC Rosengård in Sweden’s Damallsvenskan, coming off the bench to net the decisive goal in a 1–0 victory over Piteå IF.

Her late strike — her third league goal and sixth across all competitions — lifted Rosengård to 12th place and reaffirmed her love for scoring crucial goals.
Elsewhere, Ashleigh Plumptre put in a solid defensive display as Al Ittihad Ladies beat Al-Qadsiah away from home, while Francisca Ordega made a brief appearance off the bench in the same match.

It was a weekend filled with goals, assists, and solid performances from both Super Eagles and Super Falcons stars for their clubs abroad.
With club duties now behind them, attention turns to international action — as Nigeria’s finest prepare for crucial qualifiers and continental fixtures that could shape their 2026 journey.
