After damaging his medial ligament in a UEFA Europa Conference League encounter on Thursday night, Wilfred Ndidi is a major doubt for Nigeria’s World Cup playoff game against Ghana.

The Super Eagles player was forced out of Leicester City’s encounter against Rennes in the 60th minute, which is a big setback for the team.

According to Leicester City head coach – Brendan Rodgers, the 25-year-old midfielder injured his medial ligament in his knee while making a tackle.

After being replaced by Maddison, Wilfred Ndidi walked away, and the nature of his injury is yet unknown.

Most Nigerians are disappointed with this recent setback, with many hoping that his absence will not have a substantial impact on the Super Eagles’ performance against Ghana.

In last night encounter, Kelechi Iheanacho, Wilfred Ndidi, and Ademola Lookman all featured for the Premier League side as they sealed their place in the Europa Conference League’s last eight on goals scored.

Leicester City advanced to the UECL quarterfinals with a hard-fought [2-3] aggregate victory thanks to Ademola Lookman’s assist.
