Rivers United football club captain Festus Austin has stated that his side must be at their very best against El Nasr Benghazi in the first leg of their CAF Confederation’s Cup additional playoff round tie on Wednesday at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium Rivers State.Rivers United must produce top class performance to beat El Nasr - Festus

With the winner over two legs assured of a spot in the competition’s group stage, Festus Austin nicknamed “Agada” insist he and his teammates know what is expected of them going into the tie.

“We just have to put in more than a hundred percent performance for us to get the day because we how important this game is to us and we don’t have any excuse not to get to the group stage,” Festus Austin said in his press conference on Monday ahead of the game against the Libyan side.

He added:

“We just have to do everything we have to do in our home. Try to win convincingly and i am very sure we will win.”

On his part, Rivers United safe hands Darlingtin Ovunda assured everyone in the team is in high spirit to perform in CAF’s second-tier club competition.

“The spirit is very high and we are very optimistic that come Wednesday we are going to get it right this time so we are very prepared. We finished our final training this evening (Monday) and the spirit here even in the camp is very high and we are hoping and believing that come Wednesday we will deliver.”
