Rafiu Durosinmi proved decisive once again as he scored the only goal that gave Viktoria Plzeň a 1-0 home victory over SK Sigma Olomouc in the Czech First League.
The Super Eagles prospect struck in the first half to inspire his team back to winning ways and extend their unbeaten run.
Rafiu Durosinmi delivers early strike for Viktoria Plzeň
The 22-year-old forward wasted no time in showing his sharpness. Durosinmi returned to action with confidence, scoring his third league goal of the season.
It took just 30 minutes for him to make the difference. Durosinmi collected a clever pass inside the box, went one-on-one with the goalkeeper, and drilled a low shot into the left corner.
The first half ended with Plzeň holding their narrow lead. In the second half, Sigma Olomouc’s discipline crumbled.
Abdoulaye Sylla saw red in the 58th minute for a reckless challenge. Minutes later, Ahmad Ghal had his yellow card upgraded to a straight red after a VAR review.
Despite having two extra men, Plzeň couldn’t extend their advantage. However, Durosinmi’s early strike remained enough to seal all three points.
Viktoria Plzeň climb the table
The slim win keeps Plzeň unbeaten in four games, with three wins and one draw. The result also moves them to third place in the league table on 15 points—just four behind leaders Sparta Prague, who they face in their next league match just after their cup game.
For Rafiu Durosinmi, it was another strong statement of his form and potential as he continues to shine in Europe while pushing for Super Eagles recognition.
