Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen delivered another statement performance as he led Galatasaray to a 3–1 comeback victory over Goztepe in the Turkish Super Lig.
The 26-year-old was the standout Nigerian player abroad this weekend, headlining a series of mixed results involving Super Eagles players across Europe.
Osimhen drags Galatasaray to comeback win
The “man of the moment” once again stole the spotlight in Istanbul. After Goztepe scored early and a penalty appeal was waved away, Osimhen responded with a ruthless solo equaliser, snatching the ball, beating the goalkeeper before calmly slotting home.

The forward remained a constant menace throughout his 86 influential minutes, finishing with 10 goal contributions this season across club and country.
With three league goals and three Champions League strikes in nine appearances, he heads into upcoming clashes against Trabzonspor and Ajax in lethal form.
Gift Orban stars in Verona draw
Elsewhere in Serie A, Gift Orban produced a powerful display for Hellas Verona in their 2–2 draw against Cagliari.

The forward showed pace, aggression and sharp movement, repeatedly unsettling the defence before finally smashing home a precise first-time finish for his second league goal of the campaign.
However, Verona collapsed late, conceding twice in the closing stages to extend their winless run to eight matches, overshadowing Orban’s brilliant individual outing.
Kayode wins MOTM as Brentford shock Liverpool
It was also a memorable day for Italy-born Nigerian defender Michael Kayode, who was voted Man of the Match in Brentford’s stunning 3–2 win over Liverpool.

The right-back won 70 per cent of the fan vote on the club’s official X handle after a composed display highlighted by 25 accurate passes and key tackles as Brentford recorded back-to-back league victories.
Kayode’s compatriot Frank Onyeka was also involved, coming on in the 90th minute to help stabilise the midfield as the Bees held on.
Goals from Dango Ouattara, Kevin Schade and Igor Thiago (penalty) secured the win, condemning Liverpool to their longest Premier League losing run since February 2021.
Okoye gets much-needed win with Udinese
In Italy, Maduka Okoye made his second appearance since returning to action and helped Udinese edge Lecce 3–2.

First-half strikes from Jesper Kalstrom and Keinan Davis gave Udinese the platform, before Lecce fought back late. Despite conceding twice, Okoye remained composed as Udinese climbed to 8th place on 12 points.
Akinsanmiro provides assist against AC Milan
There was a positive display from Ebenezer Akinsanmiro, who grabbed his first Serie A assist in Pisa’s dramatic 2–2 draw with AC Milan.

The Inter-Milan loanee set up M’Bala Nzola for a late goal that briefly made it 2–1, before Milan equalised in stoppage time. Pisa remain in the relegation zone, while Milan continue to lead the table.
Lookman held as Atalanta draw
Super Eagles winger Ademola Lookman played all 90 minutes as Atalanta drew 1–1 with Cremonese.

Despite creating chances — including a clever assist that was wasted by Charles De Ketelaere — the forward remains without a goal this season, though Atalanta rescued a point via Marco Brescianini’s 84th-minute strike.
Iwobi & Bassey suffer another Fulham defeat
It was another rough outing for Alex Iwobi and Calvin Bassey as Fulham slumped to a 2–1 defeat at Newcastle, stretching their losing run to four straight Premier League games.

Iwobi — who marked his 300th Premier League appearance, becoming only the 5th African to reach the milestone — was substituted late, while Bassey played the full 90 minutes. Fulham now sit 16th, just three points above the drop zone.
