Everton’s new manager, Frank Lampard’s first game in charge of Everton was a 4-1 FA Cup victory over Brentford, which provided him with the ideal start to his new job at Goodison Park.
The Toffees took the lead for the first time since October thanks to a Yerry Mina’s header.

Mina came in owing to an untimely injury to Ben Godfrey, only to score the game’s first goal for the hosts.
However, just after halfway, when Richarlison doubled their lead, the former Chelsea boss saw his squad put itself under unnecessary pressure by losing a second-half penalty to Ivan Toney.
Everton, on the other hand, advanced to the fifth round of the FA Cup thanks to Mason Holgate’s first goal since December 2020.
The goal inspired chants of “Super Frankie Lampard” from all four edges of Goodison Park, and substitute Andros Townsend’s added-time strike improved the mood even more, thanks to the assist from Super Eagles’ Alex Iwobi.

Shortly after the game, Lampard declared that his team’s victory over Brentford was something special that he will never forget.
Since his first day in office, the Chelsea icon has conveyed his gratitude to the fans, who have been exceedingly welcoming.
“I have huge thanks to the fans, who have been so welcoming from my first day. Today was something very special and something I’ll never forget. We all hear about the Goodison effect and we wanted to bring that out today – the way the players played did that.” ?
