Nigeria’s Super Eagles head coach Finidi George has promised not to disappoint Nigerians following his unveiling in Abuja on Monday.

Ibrahim Musa Gusau, the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) president alongside Sports Minister John Enoh presented George to Nigerians on Monday, having announced his appointment on April 29.

In a video shared on the NFF YouTube channel, George, following his unveiling said, “This is a great opportunity given to me to manage the Super Eagles. It is not an easy job for anybody but I’m so happy.

“For me, it’s just to start working immediately which I’ve been doing even before signing this contract.

“I just want to say a big thank you for this great opportunity and I believe the God that has brought me here will make everything perfect.

“My job is to make Nigerians and the football federation proud and I believe I will not let anybody down and make sure we get the job done,” the ex-Enyimba manager concluded.

Although the NFF didn’t reveal the duration of his contract, Coach George reportedly signed a one-year contract, and he’s going to be assisted by his former teammate Daniel Amokachi.

Other backroom staff includes Benjamin James, the second assistant coach; Chima Onyeike (fitness trainer); Olatunji Baruwa (goalkeepers’ trainer) and Mehmet Ozturk (team analyst).
