Esther Okoronkwo lit up the Northern Super League on Saturday with a remarkable performance capped off with a brace that powered AFC Toronto to their biggest win of the season.

The Super Falcons forward inspired a 7-0 demolition of Vancouver Rise at York Lions Stadium, sealing Toronto’s playoff spot and stretching their lead at the top of the table.

Okoronkwo was at the heart of everything for AFC Toronto, scoring the opener with a stunning 6th-minute free kick before adding her second in the 65th minute.

She also provided the assist for Toronto’s second goal before being substituted for Jade Kovacevic with 18 minutes left on the clock.

The Nigerian star, who has been putting her worth on display all season, now has 17 goal involvements in her last 15 matches.

Vancouver Rise fought to keep the game level until the stroke of half-time, when Jessica De Filippo was shown a straight red card.

That dismissal turned the match on its head, as Toronto ran riot in the second half.

Kaylee Hunter scored twice to double their advantage, while Kaela Hansen, Sarah Stratigakis, and Jade Kovacevic also found the net to wrap up the deal for the home fans.

Okoronkwo’s influence was clear in Toronto’s dominance, creating chances and leading by example.

The victory ended Vancouver Rise’s eight-game unbeaten run and confirmed AFC Toronto as the first team to qualify for the Northern Super League playoffs.

Toronto’s emphatic 7-0 win also opened up a nine-point lead over both Vancouver and Montreal in the six-team standings.
