Feyenoord’s Cyriel Dessers scored the winning goal in their Europa Conference League match against Partizan Belgrade in Serbia.
On Thursday, the 27-year-old, who had returned from injury, continued his outstanding form with a goal that helped seal his team’s victory at the Partizan Stadium.
In Feyenoord’s 5-2 win over Partizan in their round of 16 UEFA Europa Conference League first-leg meeting, the forward scored his 11th goal of the season.
Feyenoord dominated the first half and thought they had taken the lead for the first time when Cyriel Dessers produced a neat finish in the 40th minute.
However, the goal was overturned after a VAR review revealed that Dessers had strayed offside during the build-up.
The Nigerian striker, on the other hand, demonstrated his attacking skills in the second half as he sealed their triumph with a crisp finish inside the area.
Partizan Belgrade were heavily defeated by Feyenoord at the end of the first leg, putting the visitors in a strong position for the return leg on March 17 in Rotterdam.
