Fulham and Birmingham City fans are keeping a close eye on the fitness of Nigerian internationals Samuel Chukwueze and Bright Osayi-Samuel ahead of crucial matches this weekend.
Both players are returning from injuries that could influence their teams’ campaigns in the Premier League and Championship, respectively.
Chukwueze’s fitness key for Fulham’s clash with Arsenal
Samuel Chukwueze limped off at half-time during Nigeria’s 4–0 win over Benin after feeling a calf issue.
Back in London, the AC Milan loanee underwent a recovery session, raising hopes that the injury may not be serious.
Fulham boss Marco Silva confirmed Chukwueze will have a scan ahead of the London derby against Arsenal, with his availability still uncertain.
Since joining Fulham on deadline day, Chukwueze is yet to make the starting lineup but has impressed off the bench.
Silva faces a tough selection headache with Antonee Robinson, Sasa Lukic, and Muniz also sidelined, making Chukwueze’s return even more significant as the team battles a challenging fixture schedule.
Bright Osayi-Samuel nears return for Birmingham
Meanwhile, Championship side Birmingham City await the return of Bright Osayi-Samuel, who missed Nigeria’s qualifiers against Lesotho and Benin due to injury.

Manager Chris Davies reported that the full-back is close to full fitness but stopped short of confirming him for the upcoming clash with Hull City at St Andrew’s.
“Bright is close, but we’ll see how he goes,” Davies told the BBC.
Osayi-Samuel, a summer signing, has quickly become vital for Birmingham’s promotion push, offering both pace and defensive versatility.
With the Blues sitting sixteenth in the table, his return could provide a timely boost as they aim to climb the Championship standings.
