Bamidele Yusuf steals the show as Nigerian stars shine abroad

Over the weekend, Football411 tracked the exploits of several Nigerian players abroad, with Bamidele Yusuf delivering the most outstanding performance.

Yusuf scored four times in his debut game to lead Ferencváros TC to a stunning 15-0 away victory over Szarvaskend SE in the Hungarian Magyar Cup Round 3 single-leg tie.

Playing at the Szarvaskendi Sportpalya, the Nigerian forward grabbed his first goal in the 30th minute before hitting a second-half hat-trick.

Super Eagles Stars in the Spotlight

At Rugby Park in Scotland, Kelechi Iheanacho marked his dream debut for Celtic, coming off the bench to score a dramatic 96th-minute penalty and seal a 2-1 comeback win against Kilmarnock.

Over in Germany’s Bundesliga, Victor Boniface came off the bench in the 75th minute and provided the assist for the fourth goal in Werder Bremen’s commanding 4-0 away win at Borussia Monchengladbach.

Goals Galore for Nigerian Stars

In Serbia’s Prva Liga, Ibrahim Adamu opened scoring in the 5th minute to inspire FK Borac 1926 to a thrilling 4-3 away win over FK Jetinstvo at the Stadion Dragan Dzajic.

Another Nigerian, Uchenna Ogundu, found the net in the 27th minute to set Alanyaspor on their way to a 2-1 victory over Konyaspor at the Torku Arena.

In League Two, Daniel Udoh starred for Salford City, playing all 90 minutes and netting twice from three shots to secure a 3-1 win over Shrewsbury at the New Meadow.

Elsewhere, in the Football Superleague of Kosovo, 26-year-old Samuel Opeh scored in the 74th minute of FC Malisheva’s 3-1 away triumph over Gjilani.

In Poland’s Ekstraklasa, Samuel Akere came off the bench in the 89th minute and made an instant impact, scoring in stoppage time to wrap up Widzew Lodz’s 2-0 home win over Arka Gdynia at the Stadion Miejski Widzewa Łódź.

In Slovakia’s Fortuna Liga, Philip Azango opened the scoring in the 13th minute to inspire FC Spartak Trnava to a 4-0 away win over Skalica at the Mestský štadión. His compatriot, 27-year-old Abdulrahman Taiwo, doubled the lead in the 29th minute.

Back in Egypt, Sodiq Awujoola was the difference-maker, scoring in the 75th minute as Cleopatra FC sealed a 1-0 home win over Smouha SC at the Suez Canal Stadium.

To wrap up the weekend action, Kingsley Emenike netted twice in FS Jelgava’s 4-1 away victory against RFS in the Latvian Higher League. The 21-year-old forward struck in both halves to secure a well-deserved win at the LNK Sporta Parks.
