Fulham have been handed a boost ahead of Saturday night’s London derby against Brentford, with manager Marco Silva confirming that Alex Iwobi is in contention to feature after overcoming a minor knock.
The Nigerian midfielder, who played 76 minutes in last weekend’s crucial 1-0 win over Leeds United, had been a doubt earlier in the week.

But Silva revealed during his pre-match press conference that Iwobi trained on Friday and could be available.
“No fresh news, some knocks, but nothing serious. Nothing to change anything special,” Silva told reporters.
Since joining from Everton in the summer of 2023, Iwobi has become one of Fulham’s most reliable performers.
The Super Eagles international delivered his best Premier League season last term, scoring nine goals and providing six assists in 38 appearances.
Why Fulham need Iwobi fit against Brentford
His energy, versatility, and creativity in midfield have made him central to Silva’s plans.
“Iwobi trained this morning; no serious problem. Let’s see his reaction. We took care of him,” the Fulham boss added.
This season, Iwobi has already registered an assist, setting up Fulham’s equaliser in the 1-1 draw with Manchester United back in August.
His influence will again be vital as the Cottagers aim to build on last weekend’s win over Leeds — their first victory in four games — and carry momentum into the derby against a resilient Brentford side.
For Silva, having Iwobi fit and ready will help his team maintain balance and drive in Fulham’s midfield as they look to climb the table.
