Sevilla’s home crowd witnessed a special night on Sunday as Akor Adams and Chidera Ejuke delivered decisive late-game brilliance to seal a famous 4-1 victory over Barcelona at the Estadio Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán.
The Nigerian duo both came off the bench to turn the contest into a statement win, snapping Barcelona’s 15-match unbeaten La Liga away run and giving Sevilla their first home league win of the season.
Akor Adams strikes late to seal historic victory
Adams, 25, came into the game shortly after the restart, replacing Isaac Romero. The powerful forward initially thought he had wrapped up the win with a sharp finish in the 87th minute, only for the offside flag to deny him.
But the former Montpellier striker refused to be discouraged. Deep into stoppage time, he made no mistake, tucking away Sevilla’s fourth goal to cap an unforgettable night.

The strike means Adams has now scored in back-to-back games and has been directly involved in three goals in just six league appearances this season.
His relentless drive and composure in front of goal sealed the deal for Sevilla as they look to climb the table after a mixed start to the campaign.
Chidera Ejuke’s impactful cameo sparks final flourish
Ejuke, 27, came on in the 93rd minute, replacing Alexis Sánchez. Despite the short cameo, he made an immediate impact, linking brilliantly with Adams just three minutes later to supply the decisive assist for the late fourth goal.
The winger’s pace, energy, and willingness to take on defenders injected life into Sevilla’s counterattacks, repeatedly troubling Barcelona’s backline and exposing gaps in their defensive structure.

The assist was Ejuke’s first of the season and many more to come.
Sevilla’s landmark win was not just about three points — it was their first La Liga home victory over Barcelona since October 2015, snapping a streak of 15 league games without success against the Catalans.
It also handed Barça their first league defeat in 10 trips to Seville (W6, D3 before Sunday’s loss).
