Nigerian forward Rafiu Durosinmi continued his brilliant form on Thursday night, scoring a crucial goal that helped Viktoria Plzeň claim a commanding 3-0 victory over Malmö FF in their UEFA Europa League clash.
The 22-year-old Super Eagles prospect struck his second Europa League goal of the season, adding to the one he netted against Ferencváros in the opening round.
Durosinmi’s timely goal lifts Plzeň in Group D
The forward now has eight goals across all competitions, a remarkable return that underscores his growing influence in Europe.
The Round 2 fixture at Doosan Arena had its fair share of drama, with two red cards shaping the game’s narrative.
Plzeň took the lead in the 33rd minute through Matěj Vydra, setting the tone for a dominant display. Minutes later, Malmö’s Lasse Berg Johnsen was shown a red card, putting the visitors under immediate pressure.
Durosinmi seized the moment just before half-time, reacting quickest to a rebound and slotting home Plzeň’s second.
His sharp instincts and composed finish provided breathing room and shifted momentum firmly in the home side’s favour.
Though Plzeň later had their own setback when Merchas Dõski received a red card, they remained in control. Substitute Karel Špacíl wrapped up the win with a late third goal, sealing an emphatic result.
Europa League ambitions grow as Durosinmi shines
The victory moved Viktoria Plzeň to four points in Group D, strengthening their hopes of advancing to the knockout rounds.

Meanwhile, Terem Moffi and Kelechi Iheanacho endured disappointing nights in the UEFA Europa League.
Moffi came off the bench for OGC Nice but couldn’t prevent a 2-1 defeat to Fenerbahçe, as Kerem Aktürkoğlu’s early brace sealed the hosts’ win despite Kevin Carlos pulling one back from the spot.
Moffi’s late surge, including a powerful long-range effort, was denied by Ederson.
At Celtic Park, Iheanacho thought he had equalised against Braga but saw his goal ruled out by VAR for handball.
Ricardo Horta’s superb strike and Gabri Martínez’s late effort secured a 2-0 win for Braga, leaving Iheanacho and Celtic frustrated.
