Super Eagles forward, Samuel Chukwueze, showcased his goal-scoring prowess in Villarreal’s preseason campaign with a remarkable strike against Swiss Club St. Gallen.
However, despite Chukwueze’s efforts, the Spanish team was left stunned by a surprising 6-1 defeat at the AFG Arena on Saturday.
Chukwueze found the back of the net in the 30th minute, reducing the deficit to 2-1, before St. Gallen unleashed a relentless offensive onslaught, securing an emphatic victory.
The Swiss club’s attacking prowess was on full display as Witzig, von Moos, Geubbels, Schmidt, Görtler, and Karlen all contributed to the scoresheet.
Eager to recover from the heavy loss, Chukwueze and his teammates will seek redemption in their upcoming match against Austrian side Rheindorf Altach on Tuesday, July 18.
