Paul Onuachu made his comeback to action on Sunday night, when Genk played out a 1-1 draw against 10-man KV Mechelen in a Belgian Jupiler League match.
Onuachu did not play in Genk’s 3-2 loss to Club Brugge last week, but came in as a 72nd minute sub on Sunday night to replace Joseph Paintsil.
However, the Nigerian international was unable to add to his 10 league goals as Genk were held to a draw away from home.
Onuachu hasn’t scored for Genk in over a month, after renewing his contract with the Belgian top flight club until 2024. His last goal came on October 31st.
After scoring 33 goals and adding five assists in 38 appearances for Genk last season, could it be reasonable to say that his goal scoring ratio has dropped significantly this season, with the forward scoring just 10 goals in 15 games?
Well, when Genk takes on Rapid Wien in the Europa League on Thursday, the 27-year-old will be aiming to rekindle his scoring touch.
