Premier League side, Southampton have confirmed and announced the signing of Super Eagles star man – Joe Aribo from Rangers on a 4-year deal.

The Nigerian midfielder initially had one year left on his contract before switching to Southampton.

He joined Glasgow from Charlton Athletic in the summer of 2019 and decided to turn down a fresh contract with the Ibrox team.

Previously linked to Crystal Palace, Fulham, and Nottingham Forest, the 25-year-old was able to sign with Southampton for a sum of £6 million with add-ons, a total of £10 million package for Rangers.

The Super Eagles player scored nine goals and had ten assists in 57 games for Rangers last season, including one in the Europa League final.

Last season, Joe Aribo also put on an impressive performance for the Rangers, so it’s not surprise that he was one of the players who saw the most action.

Because of his capacity to adapt, Aribo was able to help the manager – Giovanni van Bronckhorst deal with the squad’s numerous injury issues.

The 2021/22 season was ultimately finished up front by Aribo, who also played attacking midfield, central midfield, and right midfield.

Joe Aribo told the club website;

It’s an amazing club with a lot of history here, and it’s a good plan with what’s to come next. I’m really excited for the journey. The Premier League is the best league in the world. I’ve been watching it since I was a young boy, it’s always been a goal for me to play here and show what I can do on this stage. It’s an amazing feeling, a dream come true. This is where I’ve wanted to be since I was a child growing up playing, so to say that I’m here now is really exciting.”
