Fulham’s impressive EPL form has been driven by players like Alex Iwobi, who has started every league match and contributed 25% of the team’s goals. Head coach Marco Silva, however, believes the Super Eagles midfielder’s best is yet to come.

Fulham head coach Marco Silva has predicted that Alex Iwobi will have the best season of his career in the ongoing 2024/25 English Premier League (EPL) campaign.

Iwobi played a key role in Fulham’s 2-0 victory at Selhurst Park, providing an assist that helped the team climb to seventh place on the table, just one point behind fourth-placed Arsenal before November’s international break. The Cottagers’s commendable run has been fueled by consistent performers like Iwobi, who has started all 11 league matches, registering two goals and two assists in the process.

Speaking about the midfielder’s form ahead of Fulham’s clash with Wolves on Saturday, November 12, Silva said, “For me, last season was the best season from him in the Premier League, in my opinion, and I’m sure that he’s going to be better this season.

“I know him very well. I brought him to Everton, and when we got the chance to have him with us here at Fulham, it was a moment for us to sign him.

“First, he is a really versatile player. He can play in many positions, and I know where he’s capable and where he feels he can perform better. He likes to be in the middle of the pitch, but now he’s playing more on the right, where he’s capable, like he showed against Crystal Palace.”

Iwobi rose through the ranks of Arsenal’s youth system before breaking into the first team in 2015. The Lagos-born player moved to Everton in 2019, spending four years there before joining Fulham in 2023.

Across his career in England, Iwobi has made 391 appearances, registering 48 goals and 51 assists.
